What is Volume One?

How is it different from a traditional baby book or a baby journal app?
- A traditional baby memory book is a blank book with prompts, and most stop by month three. A journal app keeps your notes on a phone. Volume One takes three seconds a day, drafts the chapters for you, and ends as a real printed book — the photographs full-page, the voice notes playable from the printed page.
Is it a baby photo book too?
- Yes. The photographs are the book: a photo can fill a page to its edges or run across both pages of the layflat binding, and your captions print in your own handwriting beside the month's words.
What does the printed book look like?
- A square hardcover, about 8.5 inches (210 mm) a side, that opens flat. Heavy matte pages, the child's name and first photograph on the cover, and the family's words set in a book face. It grows a spread at a time as the year goes on.
Can grandparents and both parents add to it?
- Yes. Both parents' words print in their own hands, and a family link lets grandparents write in the margins from anywhere. Their notes are typeset into the printed pages.
What if I forget to write for months?
- Nothing is lost and nobody is scolded. The photographs on your phone fill the months you missed, the book drafts the words from what it knows, and you approve them with a tap. There are no streaks, no badges and no red dots — the only number in Volume One is the page count, going up.
